How to install mods.
Two installation methods for the full release. Start with the method shown on the mod’s detail page.
01 / Steam Workshop
- Open the author’s Workshop page from a mod detail page and subscribe in Steam.
- Wait for Steam to complete the download, then open Probably Stolen.
- Enable the mod in the main-menu Mods screen and restart the game. Read any dependency or permission prompts.
- Follow the mod’s usage instructions. Steam handles subsequent Workshop updates.
02 / Download & install a ZIP
Our two hosted packages use the full release’s native mod format. They do not need MelonLoader or a source-code build.
- Close the game. Download the ZIP on the mod’s page; check the version beside the button.
- In Steam, right-click Probably Stolen → Manage → Browse local files. Find the folder containing Probably Stolen.exe.
- Extract the named mod folder into Mods. The manifest and DLL must stay inside that mod folder, not inside another ZIP-named folder.
Probably Stolen/Mods/dbfoxtw.close-all-windows/manifest.xml - Launch the game, enable the mod in Mods, then restart and follow its controls.
Manual packages do not update themselves. Check the author release link before replacing the existing mod folder.
03 / If it does not work
The mod is missing from the menu
Check that Steam finished downloading. For a manual package, confirm the manifest.xml is in Mods/<mod folder>/ and that you downloaded a player package rather than GitHub source code.
It is enabled but the hotkey does nothing
Restart after activation, check the mod’s key binding and test it on its own. Client Demand Highlight uses F5; the author recommends changing conflicting bindings in Options → Key Binds.
Steam updated it but an old version still loads
For the hosted dbfoxtw mods, the author says a manual copy takes priority. Close the game and remove only the duplicate manual mod folder when switching to Workshop.
An old Demo mod stopped working
Demo and full-release packages are separate. Use a release explicitly supporting your game build; the two hosted v2.0.0 packages replace their older MelonLoader Demo versions.
A problem appeared after an update
Disable recently changed mods, restart, then enable them one at a time. Report the game build, mod version and active mods on the author’s page. For mods that change saved content, read the author’s removal instructions first.
